Path of Exile item upgrades (speaking of)

Item upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can be a great source of extra damage or more AD or even more affixes.

Sometimes, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is outclassed by Rare-grade gear due to their higher requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They improve the stats of whatever item they are connected to. Armor upgrades are available in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at bonfires. They can also be salvaged using a professional or higher salvage kits to salvage upgrade components from other items.

The amount of damage that an armored item or weapon can absorb depends on the extent of its upgrades. The absorption of damage by an armor piece will increase when it is upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be heavier.

There are a variety of armor upgrades available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. For example, some upgrades will grant the armor a certain number of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade an item can be given, as illustrated below.

Certain upgrades require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which are shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Certain upgrades require charges to use. All kinds of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a sufficient level to obtain these. Jewels can be replaced with another jewel without damaging the original. You can only replace the gem once within an item upgrader mod of equipment.

The use of more jewels in a movement will make it feel smoother and is typically performed to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. The jewels also improve performance and create a harder surface than steel, so that the repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to the movement.

A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the appearance of your weapons and shields. These glyphs give a slight boost and can be traded, but they are not guaranteed to show up as loot. Trinkets

Trinkets are small pieces of equipment that offer a wide range of small but useful advantages to your hero. They can be obtained in the beginning areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and by completing road interactions. They can also be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinkets a player can unlock is the cloak, which grants a small but useful bonus to speed of movement and evasion. Then, they can purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in the same fashion to how the player obtains armor and weapons. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade item slot that can accommodate either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any device. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and only work with certain trinkets.

These trinkets grant additional buffs and abilities that are active when the hero isn't fighting. This enables the hero to perform better when they are not active, and can also help fill in the void of a strong team or the absence of any slots in the talent tree that would normally be filled with hero's ideal stats.

As a general rule trinket upgrades should be a priority BiS (Best in Slot) items you won't replace anytime soon. Then, you should consider any items with desirable statistics that aren't as important as the iLevel of the item upgrade that is to be upgraded. This is true especially if you're looking to upgrade several stats on an item. It's more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat than two less important ones.

Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one at the beginning of the game. Top and mid players however will pick a green or a pink ward, based on the matchup. These choices can affect the hero's ability to manage the map.

Apart from the items listed above, players may also find a number of other trinkets in the game in the form of awards and trophies. These can be earned through completing certain milestones in the story, such as the main quest of a chapter or destroying a boss.
